The Melone Lighthouse Nurse Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in August 2023 to administer a scholarship fund in honor of Debbie L. Melone, a dedicated nurse who passed away in March 2023 after 45 years
of service. We are committed to supporting individuals pursuing advancement in their nursing careers through the allocation of scholarships for their MSN or doctorate-level education.
The Fall 2026 academic term application process will commence in Spring 2027.

Your support is greatly appreciated. Our goal for this year's campaign is to raise $20,000, which will enhance our scholarship program. Your donation will be vital in ensuring the success of future MSN and doctorate-level nurses.
Another Scholarship will be Awarded in 2026!
Our goal is to award a scholarship in spring 2026 for the fall 2026 academic year to any nurse who wishes to advance their career in the nursing profession by pursuing an MSN or doctorate-level education.
You will find eligibility requirements and an application in the Scholarship section. The foundation will start accepting applications for the next scholarship, which will be awarded in spring 2026 to any registered nurse (RN) looking to further their career in the nursing profession.

Oktoberfest
MLNF will have tables at Oktoberfest on the following dates.
Saturday, September 12, in Vandergrift. We will be raffling off several baskets including a $250 PA Lottery Ticket Jar; a basket donated by Sarris Chocolates valued at $200; a salon basket; a jewelry basket and several others. We will also be selling ducks for a duckie race.
Saturday, September 19, in Allison Park.

2026 Scholarship Awarded
Congratulations to our 2026 Scholarship Recipient, Samantha Holsopple. She is attending Duquesne University and is working toward becoming an acute care nurse practitioner. We wish her all the best.

| Logan is currently pursuing her CRNP at Maryville University. She currently works at Allegheny General Hospital in the Neuro ICU and is an active member on two lean committees at AGH. She teaches "stop the bleed" to community members and goes on yearly mission trips to the Dominican Republic to provide medical aide to third world villages in extreme poverty. |
