Eligibility

Attention all nursing students! If you are pursuing studies beyond the RN level and will be enrolled in an accredited nursing school for an upcoming Fall semester, don't miss the chance to apply for an MLNF Scholarship. This opportunity is open to current Registered Nurses and college students working towards an MSN or doctorate-level education. We are seeking applicants with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. This could be your chance to receive a scholarship that could significantly impact and enhance your nursing education, opening doors to new opportunities and advancements in your career!

Interested individuals can use the application form below to apply for an MLNF Scholarship. The application process is straightforward and easy to follow. Application submissions will begin on January 1st, and the deadline for submission is May 1st. Please submit your application before the deadline to be considered. A volunteer panel of medical professionals will evaluate all candidates who meet the scholarship criteria. Successful applicants will be informed by June 30th.

DEBBIE MELONE NURSING SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICATION - ACEDEMIC YEAR 2025-2026

  1.    The deadline for the 2025-2026 scholarship application: May 1, 2025. Applications received after May 1st will be denied.
  2.    Only complete applications will be considered. DO NOT LEAVE ANY ITEMS BLANK. Use N/A as needed.
  3.    Attach a copy of your current Pennsylvania Nursing License.
  4.    Two signed letters of recommendation (from non-relatives) must be attached to this application.
The Debbie Melone Nursing Scholarship is awarded annually to a current licensed registered nurse who is enrolled in a Masters in Nursing Degree program. All applications will be reviewed by the Melone Lighthouse Nurse Foundation scholarship committee to determine the scholarship recipient. The scholarship is designed to provide a one-time monetary scholarship to an applicant that is looking to make a lifelong commitment to the field of nursing.
